Happy 93 or Hattrick by Soldado

On its 93rd birthday Valencia CF visited the San Mames stadium to play against the Athletic Bilbao. Unai Emery has decided to play with one striker only while Pablo Hernandez and Feghouli were just behind the Soldado. SInce the very first minutes VCF was playing calm and semi-attacking game on the pitch. However, the dominance was taken by the home side, the efforts of the Basque side did not stretch the VCF goalkeeper. The wrong pass actually determined the score of the first half.
Soldado grabbed the ball sent back by the defender and scored the first goal of the night. The second half started with the attacks of Athletic and the persistent defense of the visitors. Vicente Guaita twice saved the night. In a sharp counter-attack Jordi Alba's  pass back to Soldado and the second's masterpiece doubled the lead. After while, Soldado could make a hat-trick too. After fooling Mikel San Jose came in one to one episode with the goalie but Soldado missed the chance. Roberto Soldado was able to make a hat-trick on the birthday of Valencia CF, scored a goal from the penalty. The final whistle has determined the birthday gift. Happy birthday Valencia! Amunt Valencia!!!

PSV Eindhoven 1-1 Valencia CF

The second leg match of Europa League 1/8 round required Valencia CF to visit Eindhoven and play against the local club called PSV. The club that a week ago was defeated by VCF 4-2 and after five days sacked their coach. The Dutch side was not in the best situation to play against, however, Los Ché was booed in last match too. For the first half Valencia CF looked better and was able to create several goal occasions. Diego Alves not only in the first half but for the whole 90 minutes and more was the best player of Valencia as he has made 4 crucial saves at least. The goal of the visitors came after the corner kick when the direction of the ball after Feghouli's shot was slightly changed by the header of Adil Rami, 0-1. The equalizing goal was a real shame for the defense line of Unai Emery's team. Closer to the end of the match Adil Rami got a red card from the ref just because of the Oscar nominated drama by Toivonen. Unai Emery's team was able to reach the 1/4 finals of Europa League in which they will meet the Dutch club again - AZ Aalkmar.

Another Mallorca drama

It was another drama for Valenciansitas as their favorite club was not able to keep the score again. The two goals lead was spoiled in the shadow of Mallorca players' little activeness. Mestalla was moving hankies and whistling the club which had performed two different plays during the 90 minutes. To differ or separate one of the players from another is totally impossible as the whole team shined and turned off at the same time. Unai Emery's decisions were whistled too. Seems, VCF fans are blaming only the Basque coach rather than the players who has stopped being themselves on the same pitch, within two hours and on the same sunny day. The match has spoiled everyone's mood as the forums and different internet sources as well as the interviews taken around Mestalla showed. Forgetting the coach's efforts and everything that he has done during the hardest days of Valencia CF, is the most crucial mistake of fans. The president of the club Manuel Llorente has supported Unai Emery, however, after the match against Mallorca and during the training on the day after he had discussions with the coach. A very turbulent situation is disturbing the fans, the board and the players as well. The unfavorable situation should be solved soon or we will have a new coach at the end of May, though people called "fans" claim Emery's quit right now.

Valencia CF 4-2 PSV Eindhoven

The first leg match of 1/8 finals in Europa League was held in Mestalla where Valencia CF welcomed PSV Eindhoven. The tribunes were not filled fully as it was expected. Since the first minute there was only one team on the pitch and the total dominance by Los Ché lasted during the whole first half. Goal attempts were changing one another and soon Pablo Hernandez's cross found Victor Ruiz in far post and the central defender's header opened the score in the night. It took no longer that two minutes to see the second goal. Antonio Barragan's persistence on the wing and his low cross to Soldado after leaving two Eindhoveners behind ended as a goal, 2-0.
PSV was obviously lost in the match however, Valencia CF players were wasting chances. Barragan has put an outstanding performance in all attacks unfortunately, Piatti was able to miss three brilliant chances with wrong decisions. Ricardo Costa was substituted due to stretched muscle on his right foot. Unai Emery had a a chance to be in the center of attentions too. The Basque coach was emotionally explaining the fourth referee that he was preventing him to see the match. Closer to the end of the first half fans saw one more goal. Soldado realized the penalty that was given for hitting Jonas, 3-0. The second half also started with a goal. Dani Parejo's brilliant long pass to Piatti made the Argentine to be in one to one with the goalkeeper. This time 20 year old midfielder was accurate, 4-0. Unfortunately, PSV scored two goals in ten minutes 4-2. The next match will be very risky especially without Roberto Soldado.

VCF actually was playing against the club which lost the first match in Mestalla but took Sergio Canales for 5 months.
The first half started not in a good mood for Valencianistas as Los Ché was not dominating on the pitch. However, goal occasions results were in favor of the visitors. Soldado twice missed the chance. Firstly, his header was not neat while in the second one the goalkeeper was solid. In a counter attack Jonas' incredible pass to Feghouli and the second's shot opened the score, 0-1. In the second half Granada's efforts were neutralized by the defenders while some were very risky. Feghouli did take the play-maker obligation on himself and was implementing it in a nice way. Once, a nice combination by VCF players was ended with Tino Costa's long powerful but wide shot. Closer to the end Guaita made a great save by grabbing the low cross by the winger in a very sharp attack. Valencia CF played 7 minutes additional time. Nine players got yellow card. It was only one goal victory but Unai Emery reached 100 victories in Valencia CF. Amunt Valencia!
